Now to continue where I left off 🙂 Here are the last 9 things I look forward to this year!
10) Working on my wellbeing
This kind of ties in with yoga but since the beginning of my pregnancy it’s been a little tough on my mental health. So many changes in my body (which was an amazing experience) which eventually got tiring. I was put on bed rest for almost my entire pregnancy and had to leave my full-time job – this was not an easy adjustment. This also added financial pressure on us to make sure we were prepared for baby and keep the roof over our heads. So this year I want to just work on feeling good about myself and spending my time as positive as I can.
11) My YouTube Channel
So this is something that I thought about also early last year when Grant had built us new computers. I started recording our gameplay, I thought maybe one day I would edit these videos and upload to YouTube. I would love to start editing soon and upload them mostly for me so I can look back on some really hilarious gameplay. Hopefully that is something I can start this year 🙂
12) Date Nights
I want to make more of an effort towards date nights, I’m still adjusting to the idea of organising a babysitter for Willow so we can do whatever we want. At first I felt a little guilty but then realised that it’s important to at least attempt to regularly have a date night. I also understand that sometimes Willow just takes priority 🙂 I like gaming because I can chill out at home and chat online with friends along with Grant, we get to be like kids again which is nice because adulting is hard.
13) My first birthday as a Mum
This year I will be turning 28 years old and will be celebrating my first birthday as a mum. I’m really looking forward to waking up on birthday and seeing my daughters beautiful smiling face!!
14) Mother’s Day
Every year my family generally gets together to celebrate mothers day with a bbq or something. I’m excited to be of the mothers that are celebrating and not only a daughter celebrating her mother 🙂
15) Father’s Day
Grant probably won’t necessarily mind if we celebrate this day or not but I look forward to Willow growing up and wanting to get her dad a gift for Father’s Day. I think that will be really special.
16) Planning Grant’s 30th birthday for 2019
Initially I wanted to plan a holiday to go on a rock music cruise overseas. It leaves from Miami I think and it was like a 4 or 5 day cruise. He would’ve loved that but then obviously things have changed so I need to think of something else to celebrate this milestone. He’s not looking forward to reaching the big 30 because let’s face it, no one really wants to age right?
17) Making more time for myself to recharge
I feel like this is an important one for me personally because right now I’m feeling like I’m worn out and spread thin across everything I need to do and be. So far this blog has been how I spend my me time but I also would like to do other things just for me. I want to meditate but not in the stereotypical sense, I mean just spend half an hour or something every day or week just being by myself doing what I want and that could mean just laying in bed resting my eyes.
18) Family Days Out
This I would love to do, mostly I would like to get out of the house and step away from technology for a bit. I want to give Willow every opportunity to learn and experience things and for her to make her own decisions on what she considers fun, relaxing or otherwise. Maybe a picnic or something. Just a day out, in the fresh air, no distractions. I miss doing that for myself and would love for my family to have that.
